HAPPY 牛 YEAR!!!!
Jan. 12: Met all my roommates. Charlotte (Holland), George (UK), and Zach (US).
Jan. 13: I decided to walk around in the morning but since I was so nervous, I got off the elevator on floor 10...once I realized, I just stared out the window, then walked down. At the bottom, I was asked where I lived....they thought I was a weird stranger wandering around the place...(I live on floor 14). Since I didn't know the roads, I just went back in for a few minutes...I was stopped again. "If you're waiting for someone, either wait for them downstairs or upstairs...don't keep walking in and out...people will think you're a stranger..." After that, I was too scared to leave...At 11, Leon (?) and Jason, from Projects Abroad came and showed me the places around my house. Then Jason and I met Kay, the Projects Abroad director and we went to my work place. I met my boss, and started working....I read articles (in English) and then rewrite it in my own words, with some extra research...had hot pot with my dad's family. YUM. Got my cellphone.
Jan. 14: Sorry...I went to Coffee Bean....I told myself no Western food....I didn't know Coffee Bean was international....First official day at work...the receptionist took me out to lunch. Yum. :)
Jan. 15: DISCOVERED BREADTALK....I met most of the other Projects Abroad people! We ate dinner, then went KTVing...people drank....!!!and someone sat on my bag! and after I moved it, he ended up sleeping (putting his head) on it! Now, it is waiting to be washed....ah...I could so rant about this person...ugh...my precious bag....
Jan. 16: Discovered Cafe 85...Walked along Nanjing Road...nice....bought some food to take home...bought some dinner...yummmm
Jan. 17: Went over to my grandparents' house. :) Went over to my uncle's house, where I met my mom's family...:)
Jan. 18: Went food shopping...saw some pig heads...went back home
Jan. 19: work...BREADTALK (for lunch?)....dinner with George and Zach....
Jan. 20: I went to BREADTALK again...went to CHRISTINE'S (bakery)...Had dinner with Projects Abroad at a Tibetan place....then everyone went to a bar...honestly, it isn't really fun to watch people drink...met some people from Finland there. They're friends that a Projects Abroad person (Romain...sp?) met. Afterwards, watched the Obama inauguration...had some popcorn chicken and milk tea right afterwards....then went to sleeeeeepppp...
Jan. 21: Lunch at Cafe 85? Cheap...yum...went to go sea "ERA: An Intersection of Time"...great performance! 8 motorcycles driving in a big hamster ball...WOW...Skewers!!!! yum!
Jan. 22: Nirav's (another intern) last night...so, we went to Papa John's...very expensive....very yummy pizza though. :) Half Hawaiian, half Chinese Treasure (shrimp, chicken, mushroom, alfredo sauce)
Jan. 23: Milk Tea from Cafe 85...why such a long wait....took too long to get my drink...talked with Jessie (the secretary at work)
Jan. 24: HAPPY LEMON!!!!!!-->Milk Tea....yyyuuummmm....I went to H&M to buy something new to wear for New Years...!!!Went on the tunnel ride thing that goes between one part of Shanghai to another....a must see....weird lights, sounds, etc. haha. It's just weird...went to Qipu Road with Charlotte and Steph's friend (S something...sorry, I don't really know how to say his name...)...it has a lot of cheap cheap stuff...clothes, shoes, electronics, etc. ... we stopped by McDonalds...sorry...though, I didn't eat the normal food...I had red bean stuff (it's like the Apple Pies they sell at McDonalds here...but with red bean)....I went home to watch TV while everyone else went to go drink at Cloud Nine...a fancy bar?
Jan. 25: went to dad's parents' house...had dinner at dad's sister's house...My cousin has Harry Potter books 2-7 in Chinese and English....cousin and his dad set off many fire crackers and fire works...at 12, the whole city was on fireworks...SO MUCH....
Jan. 26: HAPPY 牛 YEAR!!! Had DELICIOUS food for breakfast (BLACK SESAME!!!)...Went to see my mom's side of the family...ate a lot of food and then watched tv...went back to my dad's parents' house....many many people were there....about half of grandma's siblings and their families were there (4 families?)...a little cousinish kind of person became attached to me (she's 3)
That's a wrap-up!!! Wow...sorry if there's mistakes...I don't feel like reading through it...my fingers are too cold to move much more...I want to sleep....spell checking....really? Alfredo and Internet should be capitalized?
I will upload some pictures as soon as I figure out how to connect laptop to the internet at my grandparent's house...
Much <3

Wah!!! It's good you live up high-ish = fewer mosquitoes :) You've done a lot of the things I recommended! Yay!!! Isn't Bread Talk ABSOLUTELY AMAZING?!?! And H&M. I'm glad they're still showing ERA- it must be pretty old now. I heard they renovated the subway tour? Speaking of subways, how much does it cost now? No more one yuan rides... Happy Lemon and the Cafe sound like delish places. Though, you seem to be going to the same places quite often ;) You should have gone to Cloud Nine!- it was featured in that National Geographic edition you showed way back. Did you set off/release (?) any fireworks? My cousin said people were setting them off from midnight to one for an hour straight! And, is sounds like you had an amazing new year!- what'd you eat for Nian Ye Fan? 新年快乐!恭喜发财!Miss you! =D
Oh yes, I forgot to mention, why does it randomly say lao po near the bottom right under the 'About Me' part? Is it supposed to be the SHE song and it's just not working on my computer? And, I just read that pickpocketing incidents were up during the new year season :( hope your zipperless bag is ok, and sry to hear it was mistreated ^-^ One last thing, are you watching Youth Stage? Supposedly, it's broadcasting on CCTV, Hunan, and all the major channels... lucky!! I haven't found a good youtube uploader yet... Alright, I'm done rambling. Have fun with your hong bao! =)
Christine! You are so busy. So many new people and places. It sounds like you are enjoying yourself. Happy New Year! I wore red (ish) today just for you. Haha. So much drinking! Are they old? Or just stupid americans teens who are on their own for the first time? Have fun! Miss you. (p.s. Wenhao is apparently really bored without us in physics! Hehe, now he doesn't have anyone to make fun of).
Happy Lunar New Year!
Wow, Tibetan food! That sounds crazy delicious. And that's cool you got to see all your relatives :D
(And like Julia, I wore some red today too, haha!)
Miss you ♥
Ahhh my subscription doesn't work, cuz I'm not getting email updates about your posts =(
Jan 13: Aww, typical mean Chinese ppl =(
Jan 15: Eww that sucks about your bag! Which one was it?
Haha, and what exactly is Breadtalk? xD
And Happy Belated Chinese New Year!!!
Ooh, can't wait to see pictures! =D
Jackie, no I didn't set off fireworks. I watched my cousin do so though. Yes, it's supposed to be SHE's song. No, I'm not watching Stage of Youth on TV.
Julia, haha. RED!!! :) Everyone is between 18-24ish.
Haha. F, you were red too!!! I finally saw a copy of SHINEE's album. It's green right?
Audrey, aww...I'll go look later about the subscriptions...maybe I did something? BreadTalk is like a bakery. A yummy bakery. :) I think you can find it if you google it.
Okay, they manage to have an H&M in Hong Kong, yet they cant even build one ANYWHERE in texas??? conspiracy.
and whoever says that asians cant hold their liquor should be kicked in the teeth for such a stereotypical fallacy. its ridiculous how many times ive heard that, and one day i will videotape a bunch of drunk asians and show it to those who are in a state of disbelief that asians can, indeed, hold their liquor. quite well, i might add.
you cant even know how jealous i am that you are in hong kong right now. ESPECIALLY during new years!!! unbelievable! im sure it is simply spectacular, and i hope you are enjoying every minute of it! (i am so sure you are. again, jealous!) :)
