Tonight is the night. They say there will be 60-80 meteors an hour....for each one, I wish you all to be healthy and to succeed wherever you are~
Iowa....here I am....We've finally moved into our new house. It's one storey, with a walk-out basement. There's way too many light switches, basically all windows have shades on both top and bottom, there's a central vacuum system, etc. The previous owners made it so fancy... I feel like there is so much else in the house I don't know about...
Life here is different. Everyone has a basement. All backyards are connected with out fences (save one or two). There is a playground set in at least 70% of the houses' backyards. Everyone has a deck/balcony. There is so much green here! All the lawns are so nicely kept...
The city is different as well. Marion, Iowa is a small city. Hy-Vee is the grocery store here. The best part about Hy-Vee, it has a Chinese Take-Out at each one! Apparently it's one the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the US~(along with Tao Garden! I want some Tao Garden~).
What's bad about Iowa? The sidewalks!!!!!! They tend to randomly end. Why can't they all just connect?!?!
Ivy, I told you my next song would be Haru Haru...but as you can tell, it's not it...Sorry! I've never tried finding a Korean song online before...
Instead, I've changed the song to 流星雨 Meteor Rain by F4 (now known as JVKV?). Hum/sing along AUDREY! *moves finger in a partial circle* Ah, memories....Pineapple hair loves chicken runner...;) Ay, forget it, here's the MV too!
Miss you,
xxxx,
Christine

我回来了!!!! I am coming homeeeeee!!!!
Aiyahhhh, such a mess. So, I was supposed to fly back on Tuesday, May 12th. But, apparently it has been canceled! So, I was going to fly back on Wed, but then I would miss my LA to PHX flight....So, I am now leaving Monday! AKA IN ~ 12 HOURS!!!! I will be home sooooonnnnnn. My family will be driving to LA today and pick me up tomorrow so I should be home tomorrow night!!! SO EXCITED!!!!
Yellow Mountain was amazing. Great pictures! Sore legs from walking down the mountain...I fail at walking down steps now....Hm...so since I found out I was leaving tomorrow today, I had to see Vicky for the last time...so right after I got off the bus, I went to meet her for Micky Ds. Before I got on the metro, my aunt called and said we left some food on the bus, so I ran back, but the bus was gone...so tired...After McDonalds, we walked a little, shopped a little, hugged a little, and said good bye :( VICKY, SEE YOU IN TWO YEARS!
I am now in the process of trying to pack. But everyone knows my amazing procrastination skills!
Song change! 我回来了 (Wo Hui Lai Le ~ I Am Home/ I Am Coming Home) by Evan Yo. Enjoy!!!

Ferry Away
I am off to Chongming Island tomorrow for a night! Ivy, I'll try not to get kidnapped! I have a room booked. Though, getting there is still a little sketchy! Haha. The easy route, Tour Route 5, no longer exists. Metro to bus to Ferry. So I have to take Metro 1, switch to Metro 3, to Bus, to Ferry. Which will take a long time....Well, it doesn't seem like a big difference, but it is!
I finally went to Century Park. It was so amazing, because the breeze was so comfy!!!! Love wind! Just walked around the big lake, and took pictures. Tried self-caming, since I went alone.
I am missing you all to much....I want to thank you all who have kept me updated on the all the gossip and news back home! Haha, and thanks to the people who accept my random long phone calls, while dealing with my horrible phone connection! Ah, can't believe (at first I wrote 'please'.....how does 'believe' turn into 'please'?) only a weekish left!
I don't understand toilets in China. Squatting toilets, I get. But sitting toilets,...weird. Why do you have to lift the toilet sitting thing? I'm talking about the part we sit on. Oh, and this of course just applies to the ladies' room. Why do you have to lift it?! I'm just going to move it back down, and waste another tissue. I'm confused....do you understand what I am saying? Someone please explain to me the need to lift the seat in the bathroom, only for the next person to move it back down.
My feet hurt. Way to much walking the last few days....
To you APers, good luck! *checking schedule* Ah! AP Gov today! Stats tomorrow! Calc Wed! Lit Thurs.! Euro Fri! (Do I know someone in Euro?) Bio and Physics Mon! Chem and Psych Tues! hehe, don't think my my return too much during your testing on Chemers and Psychers! Spanish Lit Fri! Did I miss any other ones? I don't think I know people who have tests the second Wed & Thurs....

Two more weeks!
It's been so long since my last post....
As the title says, two more weeks until I go home!!!!! so excited!
Audrey...yes..sweat and sour sauce....it tastes amazing. The US should offer it as well! :)
Jackie, haha. maybe later.
Julia, I wish he had came....
Pungseon, nooooo is she back now?!
So as some Julia has mentioned to me, it seems like I have fallen off the other side of the world...haha. Actually, last week I was in Beijing with my grandparents. :) Saw the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube! And ate a microwaved hamburger there! The subway in Beijing is so crazy....they make you walk way too much, when you don't need to! I saw Mao Zedong!!!!! Yes, I did. Waited in a ridicously long line (long, but fast moving. bascially walked for an hour). His face is very very orange.
To Relayers, I am so sorry I didn't call!!! When you were all walking around MP, I was just getting off the train to Beijing and starting to sight see....Plus, it turned out that my calling card number doesn't work from Beijing....I did however where my Relay shirt from last year the next day!!!!!
To Promers, I really tried to call...this time, I was in Hangzhou. I called Audrey's cellphone before getting on the train, but let voice messages. Since my card number doesn't work in Hangzhou either, my dad transfered our house number phone to Audrey's cellphone...but of course, problems came. It only connected for a second. I hope the constant 1 second phone calls showed my intention of really wanting to talk to you all! Haha...and then, I called Audrey at 7AM the next morning and told her to wake up. I know you love me Audrey. :) <3
Pictures pictures. Those were supposed to be uploaded today, but I had problems with the Coffee Bean again. This time, the internet worked fine, but I couldn't log on to anything! Log-in pages just wouldn't work. No gmail, no facebook, no msn, no logging in to anything. So....must wait a few more days.
I went to the Urban Planning Center today! Amazing. Since I went late, I didn't get to see everything, but still, amazing!
I would like to thank gossip updaters. You make my day! HAHAHA.
Alanna, has left! No :( I am so saddddddddd
During my Hangzhou trip, Vicky and I discovered that Ajisen exists in Los Angeles (and New York, and Boston and some other city....). So, I have decided that when we go to Los Angeles, we HAVE TO GO TO AJISEN.
Alright, enough for now. A uncle of sorts is coming to fix this laptop (my grandpa's).

Around the World for 80 Days
Creative title?! hahaha....
As I was on the metro after work yesterday, listening to my music, I remembered that I should change the blog music. How to choose a song though? Counting the days since I have been gone, I got 80. It's already been 80 days?! Yes. So, I went to "Shuffle Songs" and chose the 80th song. Thus, 当我们宅一块 by 罗志祥 (Show/Alan Luo). Haha. Nice song? I used to think it was annoying, but now I quite like it. The best part is when he mentions the Wii. Hahahahaha. Can you hear it?! So, as always, the blog song has a meaning. (Oh, by the way, the name of the song means "When We are Together"). Thus, even though we are on opposite sides of the world, and it's been 80 days, we are still together!!!! <3 Enjoy the song! (I hope it works okay...)
Oh! Am I wrong in assuming this week is probably a little depressing for some people? If so, I hope this song cheers you up! ;)
When I'm out and about Shanghai, I usually think of things to write about on this blog. But, when I actually sit down to write, I always forget. There's so many stories to tell you all, but just not enough time.
Here's one little fact I've been meaning to tell you all. Did you know McDonalds here only gives you Sweat and Sour sauce if you buy chicken nuggets?! How crazy is that?! I guess if they're nice, they might also give it to you if you buy other stuff...but they're not supposed to. Oh! And KFC doesn't have Mac n Cheese! What a shame...Either does KFC in Europe! What a shame...Does KFC sell chips (french fries) in the US? ....I can't remember.
Speaking of Mac N Cheese, I found Kraft Mac N Cheese!!! Yes! It was in the imported section of Carrefour! Haha...unfortunately, we don't cook at our flat. So, I tried my own way of cooking it a little. I took a plastic cup, poured in water (too much water) from the water boiler, and then poured in a little macaroni (or in this case, shells). Then, I placed a zip-lock bag over it so it would stay warm. A little while, the pasta was soft! Yay. So then, I added the cheese powder...but there was too much water. Then, I remembered the milk! And, it just so happened I had some in my backpack. Sadly, every time I touched the little milk box, it would squirt out of the straw. First onto the floor, then onto my jeans, then onto my mobile. It finally made it into the pasta cup. I stirred and stirred. Then I ate the pasta. Not very cheesy, but still satisfied a little my craving for Mac N Cheese. Hopefully I will get to eat some properly cooked Mac N Cheese soon!
New flatmates have arrived! Jamie (sp) and David! They are both from CA...actually, they're friends. Nice people! Very cheerful.
I'd like to take this chance to reply to the comments left on the last entry:
Audrey, yes I actually didn't get to eat most of the peanut stuff you all gave me before I left! Because of the peanut scare, I was told to not eat it. It's still sitting in my box...:( I only got to eat some of the crackers on the plane and the peanut butter (which I have been eating a lot the last few days). I also had some of the peanut M&Ms. Glad you like the picture! :) Hopefully when I come back, I'll be more okay with taking pictures! Haha. Yes, "sigh-idiot secretary".
Amy, !!!!!! It means so much to me that you finally commented!!! Aww. Guinea Pig! You should see the tiny (TINY) bunnies they sell here! Oh, and I saw little baby chickens,....and maybe even tiny (TINY) dogs....Does the pictures still not work?! I don't know how to make it fix it....if you still can't see it...it's my profile picture on Gmail and Facebook!
爸爸,tsk tsk tsk. I've already told you my thoughts. :) Haha, though, thanks for the Resse's idea. Though, it's still not the same! <3 <3 <3 Love & miss you!
Julia, yes. Big bummer. I hope I feel better soon too! Sadly, no he is not coming. I so wish it though!!! By the way, thanks again for the last web chat. Haha, it was soooooo much fun. GEE GEE GEE GEE BABY BABY BABY.
Guess what all? I heard the most amazing version of Nobody! Haha. There's this tv show called Challenge Mr. Mic...or something along that.... It's kind of like American Idol ish....but not really. Anyways, at the beginning the hosts (two guys and a girl) always sing and perform (usually horribly at both. It's embarrassing how bad they sing...). One time, they did Nobody! Nobody Nobody But You! However, it was in Chinese, and they changed the lyrics to go with show. Something about how you are singing to beat Mr. Mic. I wish I could find the lyrics. It was so funny! I kept on clapping along!
I feel like there's something else I wanted to say....but of course, I can't remember.
Hahahahaha....I just remembered! While walking home yesterday, I think I saw Boys over Flowers on DVD! Korean version of course! I actually just remember seeing HyunJoong's face for a split second. It was on one of those fake DVD cart things. I can't believe it was already out! Wasn't the last episode on...the 31st or something? Anyways, just thought I'd let you all know! 爸爸妈妈, Boys over Flowers is the Korean version of 流星花园. :) It's really really popular. In Korean, and even China! Kinala was even watching it!
Can't have a blog post without talking about food! (yes, I already mentioned food, but I want to talk a little more). I have gone back to my usual routine of two bao zi for breakfast, a vegetable one, and a black sesame one. Yum :) This morning, I also tried Black Sesame soy milk. Took a while getting used to. Gosh....there was something else about food I was going to say...but I've forgotten....:(
I hate my short term memory. 20 seconds ago there was something I wanted to write...and now I can't remember....I've thought about it many times.....!!!! Ah, I remember. I only have one more week left of my internship!!!! After next week, I will be have a month of free time to go travel (where to....I am not yet sure). :)
Okay, I think that's it for now. Will post more hopefully soon!

Cravings
In the past week, I have decided that I crave two foods. Mac n Cheese and Reeses. It seems likes Kraft Mac n Cheese is available here...but I have yet to find it. Apparenty my family knows so maybe they will buy some for me. :) As for Reeses, WHERE ARE YOU?! There must be some place in Shanghai that sells it. Snickers are huge here.....but no Reeses. Not even at the Hershey's store. It'
s starting to annoy me....I just want to enjoy a Reeses....Maybe some one can post me some!!! (by post I mean mail....)
s starting to annoy me....I just want to enjoy a Reeses....Maybe some one can post me some!!! (by post I mean mail....)Now that three months is almost over....I am missing everyone more than other. The person I miss the most? CODY!!! Wah....someone buy him a plane ticket and send him over....
So I was sick last week. Threw up....yuck. Didn't go to work for 2.5 days. Slept over at my grandparent's house. During one of those 0.5 days of work, Alanna and I stopped by the Shanghai Musuem. Thus, the picture to the left. When I rotated the picture....it kind of got messed up....it smushed my face...so I had to adjust it....hope it looks okay now....
Stupid stupid secretary....she just spent ages standing around my desk pretending to look through stuff, just so she could listen in on the meeting going on in the conference room (our boss who left for good is in there).
Can't be bothered to post much right now.

Hair Washing and Fan Girl Heaven
60 new pictures are now up on Facebook!!! I hope you like them :)
I am bored....Alanna is not at work today because she is sick.
Shanghai is so warm now. I can wear a jacket outside,...but once you get in the metro...it's horrible. It's way too warm...yucky
I always think of things I want to write on here...but I always forget them when I actually write...:(
I had McDonalds yesterday for lunch! I had a meal, so a sandwich, "chips", and a drink. It turns out the sandwich was spicy chicken though. Not just chicken. And then, we (Alanna and I) wanted sweet and sour sauce. And because I don't know that in Chinese, I just said sauce with green on top...haha. It turns out, you only get that with chicken nuggets (but the lady was nice to us). Chicken nuggets?! Why? What a stupid rule! Sweet and sour sauce definitely goes with french fries!!! During lunch, Alanna decided ice cream sounded good. So, we got ice cream!!! 2.50 RMB for mine. :) That's really cheap!
I've also been to Dunken (sp) Donuts! Did I tell you this already? One day, Alanna wanted to go to the fake market. So, we walked. But first, we went to Dunken Donuts. Buy 2, get one free! We each got three of course. Then, we started walking to the fake market. We got onto the topic of chicken nuggets. Alanna wants chicken nuggets. Sounds good to me. We walk by a McDonalds. She gets chicken nuggets, I get a 6RMB (~$1 menu) sandwich. yum yum yum. Off to the fake market. I went back to Dunken Donuts two days ago and bought 3 donuts for breakfast the next morning.
Did I talk about BonBon? I can't remember....It was fun. I got to watch everyone drink and dance. Oh, and the coke situation?! How can they not give out just plain coca-cola?!?!?! I think everyone enjoyed themselves! :) It turns out, the other volunteers went there the next night as well. I instead went to my grandparents' houses. I also watched my cousin (who I just learned canNOT lace her own shoes) and aunt wash their hair at a salon. Yes, they have to go out to wash it. They look at me like I'm crazy that I wash my own hair. Apparently having your hair washed at Yong Qi (the salon) is good because they massage your hair....they also massage your back and arms and pull on your fingers if you want. OH! And they clean your ears with a cotton swab!!!...or cotton swabS.... My aunt told me I had to do it next week....so yippy. I'm getting my hair washed on Saturday! She told me not to wash my own hair Saturday morning. I'm excited...I get to have someone wash my hair for an hour....hip hip hooray....they will also blow-dry my hair....which I hate....I like letting the nice outside air breeze drying my hair. Not some electronic machine....it's not good for my hair. :(
I'm also making wontons next week. Oh, and it's my grandpa's birthday so I'm buying him a cake! yay! Probably will get it from Christine's (there's soo many in China!). :) yummy
I feel like there is so much I could say....but I just don't what to say....
Oh yeah, I went to a basketball game on Sunday! Shanghai Sharks vs. some other team. We were down by 30 points, then almost caught up....The cheerleaders occasionally danced to High School musical and threw their poms poms up when the other team was shooting free throws. I might have also been on TV...haha. We assume or at least one second, the cameras must have shown our area....even if were like a 1 mm wide on tv....hahahahaha
! I found the most amazing Asian fangirl spot! There's this little store where you can by key chains, cups, fans, etc. with pictures of celebrities!!!! HAHAHAHA. You know you've seen them on TV before. Have a celebrity you want on your cell phone chain? Want a wallet size picture of that special boy band member? Tell me and I will look!!! Hahaha. It's like crazy fan girl heaven.
I'm going ice skating tonight! Should be fun! :)
Okay, so can't think of much else right now. My mind is a little blank.

Bon....Bon!!!!!
Ah...finally a new post!!! So what has happened lately?
Last Saturday, I a took a train wot Suzhou with my grandma and two of her siblings, and we paid respects to my great grandparents. I will explain more on Facebook, when I upload pictures of it!!! It was an amazing experience.
I also found a big store of Semir!!! Three stories!!! Haha...
Sunday was Women's Day...which meant SALE!!! Though, not as big as I expected... Only 12% off. Nevertheless, I still bought two things. HAHAHA, and since my total was over a certain amount, I got FREE SLIPPERS!!! Look for them on Facebook next week!!!! They are so funny! hahahahaha.
Hm...if you don't already know, I am pretty much officially the receptionist at work. I'm also getting major bossed around by the secretary, who I've learned, EVERYONE at the office hates...except maybe the boss? (someone said he likes her). So, everyone ignores her.
Big news! I am going to a club/pub tonight!!!!! Oh yeah. BONBON (thus, the title of this post). Alanna, a friend of her, and the accounting department from work are going to dinner. Then, we might meet the auditing department for KTVing. Then, BONBON!. It's 100RMB for open bar! Though...for me...that's like 100RMB for unlimited Coca-cola? Though, I don't even drink Soda...so, what will I do? 100RMB to watch everyone else drink! Haha. It's so cute. The accounting department (Rainbow, Jessie D, and Amanda) are so excited! They came all dressed up today! (They want to look....sexy...and they keep on mentioning it!) And now, they (and Alanna) are putting on make-up!!! Cuteness (woah...did I just say that?!) Alanna just went to the bathroom to change...:)
What else about life? Ah, yes. Wendy and Alex. They are from the auditing department, and like the accounting department people, they are amazing!!! Ah, I can't describe it....they are just plain amazing! Haha.
I can't think of anything else big happening lately...I should have more to talk about after tonight...
Oh yeah, I remember! I'm extremely sad now that some people ignored my group webcam invitation....wah....:( *cry cry* Oh well, some other time then?
HAHA, ice cream!!! I finally had ice cream! You know those little cake things with swirls on the side? Gah...I can't remember what they're called....but, I know you all have seen them. SO GOOD! And really cheap!
Oohhh Alanna is returning all changed up! Very nice!
Haha. Amanda just danced for everyone in the office! Cute!
Okay, must go now. We are late for dinner!
Julia, sorry if this wasn't as amazing as I said it would be...:(

What's scarier than 1.3 billion people?
What's scarier than 1.3 billion people?....
....1.3 billion people with UMBRELLAS!!!
rain rain, lots of rain. My poor shoes...getting all wet...
What's happened so far? On Saturday, I went to the Fabric Market with Lizzie, Vicky, and Jack. Prom dress (or suit) anyone? Then, we went back to our flat to relax. Then, ZHONGSHAN PARK!!! Haha. It's about a 3 min walk from our flat. We had an amazing time. Jack and Lizzie went on the Pirate Ship (you know that ride that swings really high?). All four of us went bumper kart racing,...for three minutes. For most of the time, I was stuck...and when I wasn't stuck, I was going backwards (because I turned the wheel too much?). Oh well, FUN FUN FUN! After that, we walked to the metro, where we ate STINKY TOFU and this really weird, yellow roll thing. I thought it was like those nice roll cracker things you can get at 99...but it wasn't. It was very tastless? Oh well, we had fun. Dinner that day was Vegetarian. We ate with some new volunteers who were going to another city to teach. Haha, and before, I bought a new DVD! ! 10RMB...SUPER JUNIOR SUPER SHOW CONCERT!!! Muahahahaha.
Today, I am the receptionist at the office!!! Yep. Peggy, who is usually the receptionist, is sick. :( Hope she gets better soon! So, I get to sit here, open the door, and answer the phone. Fun...nerveracking a little. Plus, Jessie, the receptionist told me that Thomas (the supervisor/boss) might call me to test me...
Party at Alanna's tonight!
New flatmate came yesterday. His name is Ali and he is from Orange County, CA.
Update on Webcam! So I brought my webcam to work on Friday!!! (I ended up finding it in my flat...) So, during lunch, I got to talk to and see Julia and Wenhao!!! Haha. So much fun. Probably the best lunch ever since I got here.
Keep me posted!
*UPDATE* Apparently Peggy will be in the hospital for two months! Fell better! This means...I might be here at the receptionist desk a little longer...

Heartbroken....
Heartbroken today.....because Alanna was SICK!!!! :(
She didn't come to work today! That means I was very lonely. That also means that I have to work on her articles (that she by the way, has already turned in at least twice)....China Updates....ah, how am I supposed to find information?! She has worked on it for weeks!!!! The information that he (the boss) wants is just not online! Alanna, get better and come to work!!!!!! .... please? Let's complain and whine together! :)
Onto happier news, I had Sushi again for lunch! Six pieces for 6.80 RMB. Of course, they aren't fancy dancy. They are really plain and simple. But, very yummy nevertheless!
Hmm....might go watch Park Shanghai (a film) tonight? It depends on the group. Tomorrow is KTV!...I think....
I've been eating a lot of dumplings (jiao zi) lately. YUMMMM. I usually get a plate of mushroom ones and a plate of a vegi-pork (the vegetable changes from qing cai to bai cai to leek, etc.). YUMMMMMMM. :) So good. 爸爸妈妈, no worries. Nothing is better than yours! Home is always the best!
Oh yeah! HAHA. I got to see some of you through gmail's video chat! It was nice to see all your lovely faces!!! ...well, some were lovely....others were......haha. :) And no, I do not have my webcam with me currently, so if we do a video chat, you will be talking to my Olympic Doll picture. :) Hopefully you don't get all scared and creeped out....like some people! haha. :)
!!!!!! So embarrassing....I just accidentally posted this onto the SAGE blog....

70 DOWN! 0 TO GO
PICTURES ARE UP!!!
I have finished uploading 70 pictures onto Facebook. 60 are part of the Shanghai Album, and 10 are of the Super Junior M Dedication Album. Hope you enjoy looking through them!
Ah, it took for ever for them to finish! I was at the Coffee Bean for 3 hrs! And when I left, I only had 40 pictures done. The next day, I wanted to finish it at lunch. And you know what, my computer let me install the "Active Control X" thing!!!! So, the rest of the pictures uploaded REALLY FAST!!! YAY!
After I left the Coffee Bean, I decided to take a taxi home, instead of taking the Metro, because it was raining and I didn't want to walk through the rain with my computer on my back from the metro to the flat. I waited for a long time and when a taxi finally came, he asked where I was going, I said "中山公园 Zhongshan Park" and he offered a ride for 80 RMB. Ahaha....I don't think so! It usually only costs about ~30. So, I of course decided to just take the Metro home. A little rain is no big deal.
Haha. When we got home yesterday, Vicky noticed that the George's (he's currently in Tokyo) door was closed. Charlotte knocked on the door, and when she opened it, we found that a new suitcase was in there and that someone had slept the bed. Two minutes later, we heard a key trying to open the front door. It turns out, it was Evan. He was supposed to move in the day before, but then we thought it got postponed to next week. Ah, a little nerve-racking. Of course, you had to be there to feel it.

Update from the Coffee Bean!
I am currently at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, drinking a Mocha Latte (because the the Cafe Mocha is 'sold out') and a Chocolate Chip Muffin (because the Chipotle [something] Chicken is 'sold out'). Why am I here? Because the wireless internet I used to connect to at my grandpa's house has disappeared, and I want to upload pictures. I just got off work a little bit ago. I work on the 22nd floor, and the Coffee Bean is on the 1st floor. Not sure where the other interns are. They're supposed to meet at a bar for ladies night later in the evening. Alanna is meeting Amy G. (her new flatmate) and going to a bar near here. And then they are going to a new bar that opens today so that Amy G. can write a bar review for her magazine. I think I will skip out for the ladies night. Frozen margaritas are really my thing.
At the same time, I am attempting to upload pictures onto Facebook. My first album!!!! However, it seems like I must use the "Simple Uploader" since my computer can't install "Active Control X". This means uploading 5 pictures at a time....I have narrowed my pictures down to 71....I need them to go down to 60....We'll see what happens...
So, the Super Junior M concert was amazing!!! I didn't scream like the other fans though....so I guess I'm not a hard-core fan...or I'm just not crazy enough. Pictures of them will be uploaded onto Facebook. If you're lucky, there is a picture dedicated to you. The night of the concert, Valentine's Day (did you all spread the love?!) was also my grandparents' anniversary. Long story short, we went out to dinner and I thought I would be late to the concert. Got the concert on time, but it started half an hour late.....After the concert, we waited for a LONG time for a taxi....by the way, I went with my aunt....my dad's cousin. She bought me some glow things, which you'll see in the pictures.
Ah! I bought my silver bag!!! I forgot to take a picture....later okay? Yesterday, Vicky (my new roommate) and I went to the fake market, and she bought a green bag. Except for the color, and the zipper pully things, it was the exactly the same! Oh, and hers was a D&G fake!!! haha. Now I feel a little better about my bag? It's a D&B knock-off? Plus, there's a tag in mine that says it's about 600 RMB....confused. Of course, she paid less than my 195 for her bag. But oh well.
So about Vicky. I haven't talked about her yet right? Well, she's from Germany! :) And, she LOVES "One Tree Hill"!!! Haha, actually, more like Chad Michael Murry (sp). So, she bought the seasons 1-5.5. It's fun to rewatch the seasons!
Hmm...what else has happened...I talked to my parent via webcam & MSN!!!!!!!!!! <3>
I have figured out my daily morning routine! I wake up about 7:30 (That's when Vicky leaves). Take a shower, get ready, and leave around 8:30. I by two 包子 "Bao Zi" (one vegetable and one black sesame) for 1.80 RMB. Then I walk through 中山公园 (ZhongShan Park) and eat my food. I usually eat the vegetable one first. When I get to the metro, I am almost done with my two 包子. Sometimes, I'm already done. It depend
s on if I look around in the park, etc. I then get on the metro and ride for four stops. I arrive at People's Square and exit through Exit 15. My office is about a two minute walk away. I take the elevator up to the 22nd floor (it takes forever!). There, I work for a couple of hours, and then go our for lunch. The past two days, I have had Sushi. Yum. Then I go back to work until around 6. I walk about to Raffles City (a mall) and take metro home. Haha, I realized I started this paragraph by stating "daily morning routine" but instead talked about my "daily routine".
Ah, so about work. I work with Alanna! An AMAZING person! She's from Scotland. Alanna, lets take the lift down and put our shopping in the boot of a taxi. Then, we can go to the cinema to watch a film! You can tell me what the banter is! I'll send a text to your mobile and where to go. Don't worry, I won't forget the full stop. :) HAHA.

*EDIT* Due to the lack of energy in my laptop, and the lack of outlet for my charger, I cannot upload my pictures onto Facebook. I have only finished half of the pictures, so the albums will be uploaded tomorrow. Sorry!
*EDIT* I lied. I found an outlet! But, I still might not upload all the pictures. It's getting really late...it's pouring outside!

Valentines with 7
For those of you who don't know, Super Junior M is having a concert in Shanghai! Based on previous articles I had read, I thought it would be a White Day concert, on March 14 (look up White Day if you're not sure what it is). However, as I found out last week, it's a Valentines Day concert this Saturday!!! I almost missed it! Some of my co-workers helped buy my tickets online and I am currently waiting for them to be delivered to work. I am going with my aunt (my dad's cousin). Fun fun fun. I can't wait. Hopefully, I can see the stage okay...must take pictures...:( My Super Junior M CD is at home though...I think it's in my car...sad...
In honor of the concert, I have changed the song on this page!!!!
至少还有你 (At Least There is Still You) It is a cover of a Chinese song, not a cover of one of Super Junior's Korean songs. I might change it to "U" later, but personally, I think this song has some of the better Chinese pronounciation...The rapping in
Alanna, the new intern at work, is here. :) Makes work so much more enjoyable. Each day we talk to other workers in English. Amanda, Jessie, and Rainbow. They are all so "cute".
Today is Zach's last full day. He mentioned going Go-Karting....hopefully that works out...

I have lived a sheltered and innocent life in Phoenix...thinking back to when Nirav left, when we were all talking at their flat, it was a weird time...for a while, they were talking about "shagging," get caught by their parents, catching their parents, etc...not something our group usually talks about. There were some funny stories though. I can't remember what exactly, but I remember laughing. And, despite the fact that the US has the most volunteers (everyone is called a volunteer, even though we are "interns") there, I was the only American there...everyone else was from the UK, France, Holland, Australia, South Africa.
Last night was Steph's last night so we went to a nice Thai restaurant. Of course, most people were very late, including the hostess herself. One person even went back to her flat after work to change for the bar...because she can't walk 10 min, and was unclear with the taxi driver how to get back to her flat, by the time she got to the flat, it was past 7 (the meeting time). Sorry, this girl, I know I'm not going to like...very bad first impression as well...
Dinner was yummy. Though it was a pain paying for everything. We were short about 90 RMB at first, than around 50 RMB, and then 15 RMB, and finally, got it right....
Afterwards, we went to Barbarossa's. I really nice looking bar in the middle of People's Park, next to a lake. It was lady's night so there were two free drinks to choose from. Malibu and Orange, and Vodka and Apple, I think. They also decided to have a Shisha/Sheesha/Hookah...apple flavor. So basically, smoking tobacco, and breathing apple smoke...fun....look it up online if you don't know it is....then they wanted to do a club and dance...haha, yeah right. Tired, and went back to the flat...
A couple of days ago, a new roommate came. She shares a room with me. Her name is Vicky (Victoria) and she is from Germany. Age, 18. That means this weekend, Charlotte and I did lots of floor cleaning...including the bathroom...my paper towel turned black... Also, I believe George is 23/24. Zach is 19? and not sure about Charlotte. Probably older.
I finally finished my article for work!!! And, a new intern is coming tomorrow. She stopped by today, but left...not sure why...
I have discovered that I like green? My mom's brother and his family bought me a green sweatshirt. It's long....and very comfy...I saw someone wearing it on the metro yesterday...And then the next day, my dad's sister bought me a green long sleeve shirt (kind of turtle neck? is it still called turtle neck? is there a different name?). It was a Korean brand. I also have my other AE green sweatshirt, and another green knit kind of hoodie....I think I always forget I have so much green....the bad part? I can't wear my red scarves (or hat) with them...too Christmasy...
I went to Ikea!!! Didn't go for long, but still very fun! Bought some organizers.
I'm currently looking for a big, zipper bag...with three handles. Two short ones and one long one...I found a nice silver one, but it's 195 RMB...too much?
Oh. Haha. So last week at my grandparent's house. I realized my laptop connected to a wireless internet...but it wasn't their's...thank you neighbors. :)
Also, I have downloaded Skype (finally Julia!). I think you should be able to find me by using my name. The webcam in also installed, though I'm not sure how well the microphone part of it works with Skype.
Much <3
P.S. I apologize for any gramatical errors, I am too lazy to reread through everything.

HAPPY 牛 YEAR!!!!
HAPPY 牛 YEAR!!!!
Jan. 12: Met all my roommates. Charlotte (Holland), George (UK), and Zach (US).
Jan. 13: I decided to walk around in the morning but since I was so nervous, I got off the elevator on floor 10...once I realized, I just stared out the window, then walked down. At the bottom, I was asked where I lived....they thought I was a weird stranger wandering around the place...(I live on floor 14). Since I didn't know the roads, I just went back in for a few minutes...I was stopped again. "If you're waiting for someone, either wait for them downstairs or upstairs...don't keep walking in and out...people will think you're a stranger..." After that, I was too scared to leave...At 11, Leon (?) and Jason, from Projects Abroad came and showed me the places around my house. Then Jason and I met Kay, the Projects Abroad director and we went to my work place. I met my boss, and started working....I read articles (in English) and then rewrite it in my own words, with some extra research...had hot pot with my dad's family. YUM. Got my cellphone.
Jan. 14: Sorry...I went to Coffee Bean....I told myself no Western food....I didn't know Coffee Bean was international....First official day at work...the receptionist took me out to lunch. Yum. :)
Jan. 15: DISCOVERED BREADTALK....I met most of the other Projects Abroad people! We ate dinner, then went KTVing...people drank....!!!and someone sat on my bag! and after I moved it, he ended up sleeping (putting his head) on it! Now, it is waiting to be washed....ah...I could so rant about this person...ugh...my precious bag....
Jan. 16: Discovered Cafe 85...Walked along Nanjing Road...nice....bought some food to take home...bought some dinner...yummmm
Jan. 17: Went over to my grandparents' house. :) Went over to my uncle's house, where I met my mom's family...:)
Jan. 18: Went food shopping...saw some pig heads...went back home
Jan. 19: work...BREADTALK (for lunch?)....dinner with George and Zach....
Jan. 20: I went to BREADTALK again...went to CHRISTINE'S (bakery)...Had dinner with Projects Abroad at a Tibetan place....then everyone went to a bar...honestly, it isn't really fun to watch people drink...met some people from Finland there. They're friends that a Projects Abroad person (Romain...sp?) met. Afterwards, watched the Obama inauguration...had some popcorn chicken and milk tea right afterwards....then went to sleeeeeepppp...

Jan. 23: Milk Tea from Cafe 85...why such a long wait....took too long to get my drink...talked with Jessie (the secretary at work)
Jan. 24: HAPPY LEMON!!!!!!-->Milk Tea....yyyuuummmm....I went to H&M to buy something new to wear for New Years...!!!Went on the tunnel ride thing that goes between one part of Shanghai to another....a must see....weird lights, sounds, etc. haha. It's just weird...went to Qipu Road with Charlotte and Steph's friend (S something...sorry, I don't really know how to say his name...)...it has a lot of cheap cheap stuff...clothes, shoes, electronics, etc. ... we stopped by McDonalds...sorry...though, I didn't eat the normal food...I had red bean stuff (it's like the Apple Pies they sell at McDonalds here...but with red bean)....I went home to watch TV while everyone else went to go drink at Cloud Nine...a fancy bar?
Jan. 25: went to dad's parents' house...had dinner at dad's sister's house...My cousin has Harry Potter books 2-7 in Chinese and English....cousin and his dad set off many fire crackers and fire works...at 12, the whole city was on fireworks...SO MUCH....
Jan. 26: HAPPY 牛 YEAR!!! Had DELICIOUS food for breakfast (BLACK SESAME!!!)...Went to see my mom's side of the family...ate a lot of food and then watched tv...went back to my dad's parents' house....many many people were there....about half of grandma's siblings and their families were there (4 families?)...a little cousinish kind of person became attached to me (she's 3)
That's a wrap-up!!! Wow...sorry if there's mistakes...I don't feel like reading through it...my fingers are too cold to move much more...I want to sleep....spell checking....really? Alfredo and Internet should be capitalized?

你好!!!
Hello all!!!
I left Phx at 8:30. I left LAX at 12:30. 14 hrs later, I arrived at PVG and spent an hour in a taxi to get to my new home. The house has four people, three rooms, two bathrooms, and one living room (plus one kitchen, laundry room, etc.). There are two guys (they share a room) and two girls. The other girl has her own single person room, while I have a two person room (for now....).
I will post more of my first days soon! :)
